"AROUND CHACONNE " Through the Ages
Masterclass for violinists. Open to young composers and auditors. A day of study, analysis and focus on the Chaconne form through different ages. The masterclass ranges from the Baroque period with the study and analysis of the Passacaglia for solo violin by Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber, continues with Béla Bartók's
Chaconne Tempo from the Sonata for solo violin, counted among the masterpieces of the early historical 20th century, and continues with the Chaconne for solo violin by Rouzbeh Rafie, composed in 2019. Completing the work, the Chaconne from Johann Sebastian Bach's Second Partita for solo violin, which highlights the programmatic path and how much this musical form has characterized and inspired composers throughout the centuries.
A journey through listening, analysis and meeting with young instrumentalists who would like to measure themselves not only with these pages, but also with the most different of the violin repertoire, which have seen the light of day parallel to or in the shadow of this musical form. The masterclass is presented as a structured and flexible work module since, depending on requirements, it can be held in one day, extended to two days and enriched by online and/or in-presence interventions by experts and the composer Rouzbeh Rafie, to develop and deepen the topic.
Biography
Piercarlo Sacco violinist, violist and conductor. He studied with Ivan Krivenski, Pavel Vernikov, Salvatore Accardo and, for Chamber music, with Rocco Filippini, Bruno Giuranna, Alexander Lonquich, Klaus Schilde and Trio di Trieste.
Awarded in prestigious national and international competitions as Perosi di Biella, Rassegna Città di Vittorio Veneto, Città di Mantova, Sandro Fuga di Torino, Accademia Filarmonica Romana. Laureat de la Ville de Paris-Prix Special du Jury at the Deuxieme Concours International du Violon Yehudi Menuhin 1992. Jury composed of Yehudi Menuhin, Gidon Kremer, Vladimir Spivakov and Zachar Bron.
In more than 30 years of activity he has performed as soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster in contexts like Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Fondazione Arena di Verona, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan, i Solisti Aquilani, Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona, Teatro Regio in Parma, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Lincoln Center in New York, Teatro Cervantes in Malaga, Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, Maison de Radio France in Paris, Salle Berlioz Paris, Rundfunk der DDR Berlin, Gasteig in Munich, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Radio-televizija Srbije, collaborating with conductors like Lorin Maazel, Georges Prêtre, Ton Koopman, Christopher Hogwood, Gennadij Rozdestvenskij, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos.
Violinist and violist in the Ensemble Sentieri Selvaggi. Italian composers like Carlo Boccadoro, Giorgio Colombo Taccani, Mauro Montalbetti and Carlo Galante have dedicated their works to him.
Professor in numerous masterclasses, he teaches violin and ensemble music at the Institute Rusconi and Piseri Foundation. Since 2016 he has been music director of the orchestra “Gli Archi del Rusconi,” with he recently recorded the complete String Symphonies by Mendelssohn. In September 2017 he took part in the jury of the 36th International Violin Competition Premio Rodolfo Lipizer in Gorizia.
As soloist and chamber musician he has recorded for Brilliant Classics, Decca, Sony, Deutsche Grammophon, Da Vinci.
M° Piercarlo Sacco plays a Joseph Steiner violin, Augsburg, circa 1715 - Strings by Corelli.
